This round wood cedar deck is a testament to building with what you have. It was a wonderful project that I was truly blessed to work on. This deck embodies the true spirit of green building. The total materials budget was probably somewhere around $100. Everything else was salvaged, re-purposed or pulled from the waste stream.

The design and creation of this project was a community effort.  My Uncle Willi was flexible with his design and was supported with aid from his friends and family.  Each person contributed to make this project possible, whether it was finding the right bolt or holding up a temporary support.  This job is how building should be; people coming together to help one another; working hard together to satisfy each other’s needs.
